Englewood Art Festival entertainment

Entertainment at the 52nd Englewood Art Festival promises to be another major attraction for this week-end event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9 at Centennial Park, 321 Union Boulevard.  Festival hours are 10:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday.   

The Northmont High School Marching Band will kick off Saturday’s entertainment at noon.  The marching band strives to support the community and can be seen at parades, football games, and many other events throughout the year.  Be sure to come out Saturday and show your support for the young men and women of the award-winning Northmont High School Marching Band.  Last Call, set to perform at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, was formed in 2005 as a 4-piece cover band that played around Ohio for about 10 years.  They transitioned to an Acoustic Trio around 2014.  Over the past few years, they added to their lineup to become a five-member ensemble and have developed their set list full of 3-part harmony and impressive acoustic renditions of your favorite hits from the 60’s to the present.  Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the Cross River Junction will play all eras and styles of Country and Southern Rock, from George Strait, Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, 38 Special, and Skynyrd.

Mike Sedmak will open Sunday’s entertainment at 11:15 a.m.   He is a guitar guru and his music features a mix of pop, classic rock, blues and jazz instrumentals.  Some of Mike’s covers include songs by Eric Clapton, Bruno Mars, Andy Wood, Beetles, Tears for Fears, Jimi Hendrix, Chaka Khan and many more.  The Englewood Civic Band, a volunteer concert band that began in 1990, will take the bandstand at 1:30 p.m..  Led by director Roy Swanson, the band plays a wide variety of music including marches, pop tunes and concert band literature.   Ryan Roth, Elvis impersonator known for his captivating performances will close the festival entertainment at 3:15 p.m.  Participating in numerous Elvis tribute contests and events Roth has a strong fan base and is recognized for his authentic style.  His performances include signature Elvis attire and dance moves, aiming to keep the legacy of Elvis Presley alive through his artistry.
