WM VFW Auxiliary donates to Miami County Special Olympics

The West Milton VFW Post 8211 Auxiliary recently donated $10,000 to Miami County Special Olympics to support equipment and fees for the more than 100 athletes in the local program.

In March, the VFW hosted its 36th annual fundraiser for Miami County Special Olympics, resulting in the group’s largest donation so far. VFW quartermaster Bill Wolfe and Auxiliary secretary Charlene Wolfe stopped by a recent bowling practice to present their donation to this season’s Special Olympics bowling athletes. Since 1988, funds raised by the club have been used to provide many items, such as uniforms and equipment, for athletes participating in Miami County Special Olympics sports.

“We are incredibly grateful for the West Milton VFW’s continued support and generosity,” said Patrick Kilbane, Miami County Special Olympics Local Coordinator. “Their support creates so many meaningful opportunities for the athletes we serve.”
