Tipp grad ready to give back to his community
Ambos sworn in as Tipp’s newest officer
A chapter in public service began this past week in Tipp City as the community welcomed its newest police officer during a formal swearing-in ceremony at The Tipp City Government Center.
On Monday, March 16, at the Tipp City Council meeting, family members, friends,
and fellow officers gathered as Mayor Logan Rogers administered the oath of office to Jacob Ambos, who recently served as an officer for the Charlotte, NC, police department. Standing before the audience, Ambos raised his right hand and, with his mother Ivy Jo Blake, holding the bible, pledged to uphold the Constitution and serve the community
with integrity and dedication.
Ambos, a Tipp City native and 2016 graduate of Tippecanoe High School, said the moment was both humbling and inspiring. “I grew up here, and I’ve always wanted to give back,” he said. “I'm very excited to be serving my community in this capacity, and I’m ready to do the work.”
Ambos is also a 2020 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
