Tipp City Police Department’s K9 Pasha retires

The Tipp City Police Department recently released the following statement through social media:

After nearly nine years of dedicated service to the Tipp City community, K9 Pasha is retiring from the Tipp City Police Department.

Pasha has proudly served alongside his handler, Officer P. Brazel, since completing the Ohio State Parks Canine Academy. Throughout his career, Pasha has been an invaluable member of the department, conducting successful tracks resulting in apprehensions, providing protection and support to officers, and assisting with numerous drug seizures.

Pasha’s work has extended well beyond Tipp City. When available, he assisted neighboring law enforcement agencies with drug detection and other canine operations. He has also spent countless hours representing the department at schools, community events, local clubs, and preschools, helping educate the public and build positive relationships between our department and the community.

Pasha has certainly earned some hardware to wear around his neck over the years, including gold medals in building searches and apprehension competitions at the Ohio Police and Fire Games.

Perhaps what made Pasha so special was his enthusiasm for the job. He was always ready to come to work, do his part to put criminals behind bars, protect his fellow officers, and help keep the community safe—all while making lasting connections with the people he encountered along the way.

After nearly nine years of dedicated service, Pasha will now enjoy retirement at home with Officer Brazel, where we expect his new responsibilities will include plenty of belly rubs, treats, and well-earned relaxation.

While one chapter is coming to a close, another is already beginning. A new canine is currently in training with Officer Brazel and is expected to complete training and be ready to fill Pasha’s very big paws later this year.

An official introduction will follow soon.

Thank you, Pasha, for nearly nine years of service, dedication, and loyalty to the Tipp City Police Department and the community you served. You’ve earned your retirement.
