Since becoming a no-kill shelter in 2019, the Miami County Animal Shelter has remained committed to protecting both animals and the community by reuniting lost pets with their families, caring for homeless animals, enforcing Ohio animal welfare laws, and helping deserving pets find loving homes.

A "no-kill" shelter maintains a save rate of at least 90 percent, ensuring that healthy and treatable animals are given every opportunity to find a family while providing humane care for those with serious medical or behavioral conditions.
