Alex Darner wins Teamsters Scholarship Fund Award

Teamsters Assist Hundreds of Families with Financial Burden of Continuing Education

WASHINGTON – The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Scholarship Fund is proud to announce the recipients of its Class of 2026 scholarship awards, which includes Alex Darner of Tipp City.

Alex is the son of Jesse Darner, a member of Teamsters Local 957 employed by UPS. Alex is a recent graduate of Tippecanoe High School and will attend Wittenberg University in the fall. Teamsters Local 957 represents more than 3,400 members locally in a variety of industries.

The Teamsters Scholarship Fund proudly awards 600 $2,000 scholarships each year, and in just three short years, more than 1,600 scholarships have been awarded. The money raised for the Teamsters Scholarship Fund comes from the generosity of Teamsters local unions, Joint Councils, and member service providers. The Teamsters do not allow any employers to donate to the Scholarship Fund.

Teamsters scholarships are awarded to high school seniors planning to enroll in four-year college after graduation, community college transfer students, and students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools. Applicants must be the daughter, son, or financial dependent of a Teamster.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.3 million hardworking people in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Visit Teamster.org for more information. Follow us on Twitter @Teamsters and “like” us on Facebook at Facebook.com/teamsters.
