CampREC defeats Vandalia public safety personnel in kickball showdown

In what can only be described as a “teachable moment” for public safety personnel everywhere, the CampREC kids officially defeated both Police AND Fire in last Tuesday’s kickball showdown. Despite years of training, tactical discipline, and questionable stretching routines from the fire crew, they were outpaced, out-kicked, and—at times—out-hustled by a group of athletes who still think snacks are part of halftime strategy.

Rumor has it the Police are currently reviewing “video evidence,” while Fire is blaming “hydration strategy” and the fact that the bases were, in fact, “too far apart.” CampREC, on the other hand, celebrated with unmatched efficiency: high-fives, laughter, and immediate requests for ice cream.

Police and Fire tipped their helmets and badges to their victorious opponents. Lessons were learned. Pride was damaged. Hamstrings were tested. They’ll be back next year… after a thorough investigation and possibly a conditioning program designed by the 10-year-old MVP.
