Hackenberger, Wood named Academic All-District student-athletes

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) and junior Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) were named 2025-26 Academic All-District in men's tennis by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be at least a sophomore in athletic eligibility, and have played in at least 50 percent of his team's games during the season.
Hackenberger and Wood are each now two-time recipients of this award.
Hackenberger has records this season of 14-12 overall, 9-10 in singles, and 13-11 in doubles.
In his career, he's 81-45 overall, 41-22 in singles, and 48-32 in doubles.
Wood has records of 11-19 overall, 9-12 in singles, and 15-7 in doubles this season.
In his career, Wood is 88-55 overall with a 49-26 singles record and a 51-29 doubles record.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Under fourth-year head coach Sean Swisher, the Polar Bears finished the 2025-26 season 14-9 overall and won the conference's Regular Season title with a 3-0 record.
Northern won its fifth consecutive OAC Tournament championship to claim the program's tenth NCAA Tournament berth, where they advanced to the Second Round.
