Jackson shuts down Fairborn 13-0

Carson Jackson pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead the Tippecanoe baseball team to a 13-0 run-rule victory over Fairborn last Friday night at Clawson Field.

The Red Devils picked up 14 hits in the game, including multiple hits from three different Tipp batters. In all, the Red Devils were happy to finally get to play a home game this week, as the backstop netting was repaired, and Tipp swept a pair of games on their home field this week.

“It is special to get people out to the ballpark who haven’t seen the team yet,” Tipp coach Cam Dickens said. “The kids have a different pep in their step seeing friends and family in the stands, it is great to get back into our routine.”

Jackson made quick work of the Skyhawks and continued his solid season on the mound for the Red Devils.

“He has been pitching it well this year and has thrown a lot of innings over the years,” Dickens said. “I don’t think he had the type of year last year he was expecting. But he has done nothing but work extremely hard, and his stuff looks cleaner and crisper, and he has thrown a lot more strikes.”

“He set the tone for us tonight in the very first inning.”

Ethan Harney added two hits and three runs scored, while Jackson helped himself with four runs batted in. Danny Browarsky and Colston Artz both had two hits, while Brady Liskey picked up three RBIs in the win.

Tipp built the lead early and never looked back, scoring three runs in the first inning to lead 3-0. They added four more runs in the second and four more in the third.

With the win, Tipp earned their tenth win in a row to remain atop of the MVL with some big games this week. They are at Troy tonight before hosting the Trojans on Friday night at 5 p.m.

*The Tipp baseball team finally got to play at home, and crushed Greenville 19-3 in a game shortened to five innings.

Carson Jackson led the Red Devils with three hits while Ethan Harney drove in four to lead the Tipp offense. Danny Browarsky drove in three for Tipp.

Tipp scored most of their runs in the middle innings, plating seven in the third and nine runs in the fourth inning.

Cayden McKinney was on the mound to start the game, pitching three hitless innings to pick up the win.
