Grand Jury returns indictment charging Caleb Flynn with murder

Miami County Prosecuting Attorney Paul M. Watkins announces that the Miami County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Caleb Flynn with the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn.

On February 16, 2026, police were dispatched to a home on the 900 block of Cunningham Court in Tipp City, Ohio, on reports of a burglary in progress and a report that a resident had been shot. Ashley Flynn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Caleb Flynn was indicted on March 18, 2026, for one count of Aggravated Murder, three counts of Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault, three counts of Tampering with Evidence, and two counts of Intimidation of an Attorney, Victim, or Witness in a Criminal Case. If convicted, Flynn will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Tipp City Police diligently led an extensive investigation to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Ashley Flynn. Prosecutor Watkins thanks the Tipp City Police Department, the Miami County Sheriff's Office, BCI, FBI, ATF, the Preble County Sheriff's Office, the Darke County Sheriff's Office, the Butler County Sheriff's Office, the Troy Police Department, the Piqua Police Department, the Vandalia Police Department and the Butler Township Police Department for their past and continued efforts in this investigation.

Prosecutor Watkins and his staff will continue to work together with their law enforcement partners to ensure that justice is served for the murder of Ashley Flynn. To preserve the integrity of the ongoing judicial process, the Miami County Prosecutor's Office will make no further statements regarding this case until the matter has been adjudicated.
