*BREAKING* Shooting Reported on Cunningham Court

BREAKING NEWS  

The following information has been released by Tipp City Chief of Police Greg Adkins:

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 2:31 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Cunningham Court in Tipp City in reference to a reported burglary with a resident inside the home who had been shot. 

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim’s husband and two children, who were inside the residence. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers immediately secured the residence and surrounding area. Family members were notified and responded to assist with the care of the children and the victim’s husband. The Miami County Victim Witness Program was also contacted and responded to the scene to provide support. 

A perimeter was established, and officers deployed police canines and an unmanned aerial system (drone) to search the surrounding area for potential suspects; no suspects were located during the search. 

Investigators, crime scene technicians from the Tipp City Police Department, and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation remain on scene processing evidence and conducting follow-up investigation. 

This homicide investigation is in its early stages. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
