City Manager Weekly Update
Please see the highlights from this past week along with some project updates that will impact the City in the coming weeks.
Parks Master Plan- The first Steering Committee meeting was held last week and was very productive. A community survey is now live, and we encourage all residents to participate and share their input to help shape the future of Tipp City’s parks system. Take the survey here. Brandstetter Carroll, our consultant leading the Parks Master Plan, will host a public open house on October 7th from 5:30–7:30 p.m. to gather resident feedback. Brandstetter will also have a booth at the Mum Festival to engage with the community.
ODOT Soundwall Maintenance- The City was notified this week that ODOT will be repairing the soundwall just north of Main Street, damaged by a semitruck last year. This project will require a three-day closure of the northbound entrance ramp, scheduled for spring 2026. Specific dates will be shared once available.
Downtown Tipp City Partnership Strategic Planning Session- City staff and council members serving on DTCP boards and committees joined other key stakeholders this week for a strategic planning workshop facilitated by Heritage Ohio. The session focused on long-term goals for the organization and marked a strong first step toward developing a comprehensive strategic plan.
Uptown Development- The City continues working through legislation to establish a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district and a New Community Authority (NCA) to support planned uptown projects. At next week’s Council meeting, the first reading of an ordinance will be held to establish a TIF fund and approve the compensation agreement with Tipp City Exempted Village Schools.
This week at Tipp City Rotary, Woodard Development presented to members about their company, past successful projects in the Dayton region, and their partnership with Tipp City. To further public engagement, the City will host a community open house on Wednesday, September 24th, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Tipp City Government Center. Residents will have the opportunity to meet City staff and Woodard Development, learn about the Uptown project, and ask questions.
Capital & Operating Budget- The City’s internal budget review process is complete for both the 2026 operating budget and the five-year capital improvement plan. Copies have been distributed to City Council members this week and added to the website for the public to view. Staff will be presenting both to City Council on September 29th at 3 pm in council chambers. This meeting is open to the public.
