City Manager Weekly Update
Please see the highlights from this past week along with some project updates that will impact the City in the coming weeks.
Asphalt Resurfacing- Asphalt resurfacing continued this week and is expected to wrap up next week. In addition, ODOT began paving work along West Main Street. We recognize that this work has created temporary inconveniences, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as both the City and ODOT make important improvements to the community.
This week, City Council also approved $130,000 in alley improvements. This year’s project will focus on alleys in the following areas:
W. Broadway and W. South Street
S. Hyatt Street and S. 7th Street
E. Broadway and E. South Street
S. Third Street and S. First Street
Improving the condition of alleys across Tipp City remains a priority. The City plans to continue annual investments to enhance accessibility, safety, and overall infrastructure quality.
Uptown Redevelopment- Two important steps forward were made this week in the City’s uptown redevelopment efforts: o 60-Acre Development Agreement – City Council approved the development agreement for the recently acquired 60-acre parcel at Co. Rd. 25A and W. Main Street. This partnership with Woodard Development will allow the City to move forward in creating a new retail center in Tipp City.
o Conceptual Drawings Released – The City released conceptual drawings for both the Tipp Plaza redevelopment and the 60-acre property. These can be viewed [here].
We know there are many ideas and opinions about which businesses should locate in these areas. While the City will continue to work to attract retailers that the community wants, it is important to note that the City cannot require private businesses to locate here. Most companies rely on criteria such as traffic volumes and surrounding residential population when deciding where to expand.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our city's progress.
