City Manager Weekly Update

Please see the highlights from this past week along with some project updates that will impact the City in the coming weeks.

Industrial Sanitary Sewer Project- Construction remains focused at the intersection of SR 571 and County Road 25A, which remains fully closed to traffic. A progress meeting held this week indicated the intersection is expected to reopen the week of July 28. We understand the inconvenience this closure presents and appreciate the public’s continued patience. To promote safety, the Police Department has increased patrols in the construction zone. We ask all motorists to obey posted signage and detour routes during this time.

Pickleball Project- Construction of the new pickleball courts at Kyle Park is progressing well, with asphalt surfacing completed this week. A brief pause in work will follow as the asphalt cures. This exciting addition to our park system is funded through the City’s Capital Improvement Fund, with $50,000 in support from the Tipp City Foundation. Next month, City staff will meet with Upper Valley Medical Center to further discuss our grant request through the UVMC Community Benefit Grant Program. We are optimistic about securing additional funding to support this project.

Monroe Federal 150 Anniversary Community Block Party- In celebration of Monroe Federal’s 150th anniversary, the Downtown Tipp City Partnership is hosting a community block party on Saturday, July 19, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Please note that Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 1st Street to 5th Street. Additionally, 4th Street will be closed between Walnut and Dow Streets. We invite all residents to join us downtown for this exciting celebration.

Hathaway Park Playground Ribbon Cutting- New playground equipment has recently been installed at Hathaway Park, significantly enhancing the park's amenities. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held during the regularly scheduled Parks Board Meeting on Monday, July 14, at 6:00 PM at Hathaway Park. We encourage the community to attend and help us celebrate this major upgrade.

  1. However, we understand that some residents may prefer not to download another mobile application. If that’s the case, you can still stay informed by signing up to receive these notifications via email.
