Milton-Union MVCTC FFA stayed busy in May

The Milton-Union MVCTC FFA started the month of May off by attending the Ohio FFA State Convention. During the trip, the members toured Fulton Farms and Holdfast Hilty Alpacas & Farm. They also attended several convention sessions where they received various honors. Tessah Perkins, Addyson Bechtel, and Luke Jones received awards for earning Gold Rated Secretary, Treasurer, and Reporter’s Record Books, respectively. Luke Jones and Riley Kent were selected and performed in the Ohio FFA Band as well.

On Saturday, May 10, the chapter held their 10th Annual Parent-Member FFA Banquet. Many students were recognized for their FFA achievements from the year. Highlights include Kylie Wintrow winning the Star Greenhand Award and Luke Jones winning the Star Chapter Farmer Award.

The 2025-2026 Chapter Officer Team was installed as follows: President- Emersyn Freisthler, Vice President- Sophia Blackburn, Secretary- Kaylie Shortridge, Treasurer- Addison Willis, Reporter- Luke Jones, and Sentinel-Riley Kent. The chapter wishes to thank the following individuals and local businesses for their support through donations to the banquet: Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, Hissong Family Farms, Karen Wellbaum, Kress Farms, and Mary K. Miller. The chapter finished their school year by hosting the Annual Ag Awareness Day for over 500 elementary school students. Partnering with Grow Next Gen, they taught students about plants, livestock, and machinery.
