Milton-Union Sports Roundup

The fall sports season is beginning to wind down for Milton-Union’s athletes, but within the last few weeks, they have still been busy preparing for tournament play.

Football - 

On Friday, Oct. 3, the football team traveled to Troy Christian where they took a rare win. Although the team has been struggling this year, they were able to dominate the Eagles, 46-13. 

The ‘dogs scored 40 points in the first half of the game while Troy Christian only scored seven. This win brought their record to 2-5. 
Boys Soccer - 

A 2-0 win over Northwestern on Saturday, Oct. 4, brought momentum for the boys soccer team as they head into tournament play. The goals in this game were scored by Kade Ullery and Owen Smith, while the assists were by Carter Forest and Zaden Farmer. This win moved their overall record to 8-7-1. 

They next went on to play Franklin Monroe on Oct. 7, where they won 3-1. This was their last regular season game. Carter Hamann led the ‘dogs as he scored two goals, and Farmer had two assists. Defender Forrest scored on a free kick in the first half of the game as well. Their record stood at 9-7-1 for the 2025 regular season.

Their first tournament game will be a matchup against West Liberty Salem, whose record is 12-2-1. 

Girls Soccer - 

A special senior celebration was in order for the girls’ soccer team before their game against Belmont on Monday, Oct. 6. Recognized seniors included Ella Smith, Kennedy Nichols, Kate Copp, Mackenzie Shortridge, Autumn Rozenkranz, and Riley Shaw. 

The girls also had a huge victory of 9-0. Every senior was able to score a goal, and along with them was Libby Crabtree, who had two goals, and Rayann Lowe had one as well. Nichols also added three assists while Rozenkranz and Copp each had two assists. 

Their first tournament game will be against Brookville whose record is 8-6-2.

Volleyball - 

The volleyball team fell to Shawnee on Monday, Oct. 6, in a non-conference matchup. The team lost in four sets: 25-22, 26-24, 25-19 and 25-19. This loss took their record to 7-12 and 2-9 in the Three Rivers Conference. 

They went on to play again the next day and were able to pick up a win over Northridge. They won in three sets: 25-5, 25-18 and 25-12. With this win, their league record improved to 3-9. 

Their first tournament game will be against Anna. 

Ty Parsons

Ty Parsons is a current undergraduate student at the University of Kentucky with a dual major in Communications and Journalism. She’s also working towards receiving her certificate in Sports Communication, Media, and Promotion.
