Flynn faces charges including aggravated murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor intimidation. He is accused in the Feb. 16 shooting death of his wife, Ashley Flynn, 37, at their Cunningham Court home in Tipp City.
Tipp City police investigated the shooting, with the case later proceeding through the Miami County court system. The FBI and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted Tipp City police in the homicide investigation. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office and Miami County Prosecutor’s Office also provided investigative support, according to statements reported at the time.
The trial and jury selection are being held in Miami County Common Pleas Court at the adjacent Miami County Safety Building. The historic courthouse, home to Miami County Municipal Court, was used for jury selection because of the larger-than-usual number of prospective jurors summoned.
Judge Jeannine Pratt has reserved two weeks for the trial, although proceedings will continue as long as necessary.
