Tipp officers, paramedic discuss response to home following Ashley Flynn’s death

During the first day of testimony in the Caleb Flynn trial, a Tipp City police officer testified to her response to the home of Ashley and Caleb Flynn on the night she was killed.

Officer Alexandra Giampapa told the court she and Officer Colton Linkous found the center console open in a pickup truck while clearing the garage. Giampapa and Linkous were among officers who responded to the house after Caleb Flynn called 911 to report his wife Ashley had been shot and killed in their home on Feb. 16.

Giampapa testified on Friday at the Miami County Court of Common Pleas during the second day of Caleb Flynn’s murder trial. She testified after the court viewed her bodycam video when she responded to the scene. 

He’s been charged with aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and intimidating a witness, victim or attorney.

“(Caleb Flynn) said he had a shotgun, a .22, a pellet gun and a handgun in the compartment in (the) truck,” Giampapa said. “We asked again if the girls had been checked on and he said not since we had gotten there.”

Flynn’s two daughters were sleeping in a bedroom when officers arrived at the house.

Other witnesses during the second day of the trial were Sgt. Corey Rismiller with the Tipp City Police Department (first officer at the scene); Alex Hules, a paramedic with the Tipp City Fire Department; Miami County Communications Center Director Beth Hull; and Officer Hunter Bradburn with the Troy Police Department (drone operator).
