Cincinnati Open: Friday and Finals Preview
On Thursday night, defending champion Iga Swiatek moved into the semifinals (via retirement from Elena Rybakina) where American Jessica Pegula awaits. One of the men’s semifinals is also decided, with Flavio Cobolli set to take on Arthur Fils.
Americans in Action
Friday’s quarterfinal schedule features five Americans: Frances Tiafoe, Coco Gauff, Madison Keys, Taylor Fritz and Brandon Nakashima.
The day session will see 2019 Cincinnati Open champion Keys against Czech 20-year-old Sara Bejlek, and an all-American showdown between Fritz and Nakashima. Tiafoe opens the night session against Lorenzo Musetti, followed by 2023 Cincinnati Open champion Gauff versus Marta Kostyuk.
Finals Weekend
Finals Weekend, presented by Credit One Bank, will be Aug. 22-23 and promises a memorable experience for everyone. Saturday will be the singles semifinals and women’s doubles final. The men’s doubles final and both singles finals are scheduled for Sunday.
The first-ever Finals Weekend will feature limited edition merchandise, live shows on the Kroger Indoor Fan Zone stage hosted by Tracy Austin, and special performances by American Idol contestant and Mason native Michael Williams as well as Season 1 winner of The Voice Javier Colon.
