Englewood Arts Festival will be held Aug 8 and 9
The city of Englewood will be celebrating the 52nd Englewood Art Festival, Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, under the trees at Centennial Park, 321 Union Blvd. Festivities begin on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with a 5K Race. The awards ceremony will immediately follow the race. The Festival Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. on Union Blvd. from W. Wenger Rd. to Centennial Park, where over 100 Artists will be selling their handmade work. Festival hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
The Northmont High School Marching Band will kick off Saturday’s entertainment at noon, followed by Last Call Band. Country artists Cross River Band will perform at 4:00 p.m. Sunday’s entertainment begins at 11:15 a.m. with guitarist Mike Sedmark. The Englewood Civic Band under the direction of Roy Swanson will take the bandstand at 1:30. Ryan Roth, an Elvis impersonator, will close the festival entertainment at 3:15.
Festival Chair. Linda Bryan states, “Festival goers should plan on eating at the festival. With 20 food vendors, including food trucks, there will be something for everyone. Selection includes Cajun Specialties, Yummy Gyro Food Truck, Scouts burgers and walking tacos, a Beer Garden, Homemade ice cream and many more.
A charity car show benefiting Community Table, Inc. will take place on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Registration is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with awards announced at 2:00 p.m. The entry fee is $10.00.
