An Afternoon of Gratitude: Tipp City Gathers for English Lutheran Cemetery Rededication

Under bright skies and a peaceful breeze, members of the Tipp City community gathered Sunday, May 17th, in the afternoon for the rededication of the English Lutheran Cemetery located at 723 South Hyatt Street, a place deeply woven into the town’s history and heart. 

The event at this historic cemetery, established in 1826, brought together families, longtime church members, and volunteers who have devoted countless hours to caring for the grounds. The atmosphere was one of gratitude and reverence as prayers were offered, stories were shared, and the community reaffirmed its commitment to honoring those who came before us. Pastor Jaren Summers led the service near the stone wall and cross, offering words of blessing and reflection on the generations represented within the cemetery. 

The cemetery, one of Tipp City’s earliest historic landmarks, holds the names of settlers, military veterans, and generations of families who shaped the life of the town. Ongoing projects, including updated military booklets, expanded historical research, and preservation efforts, continue to shine light on the lives represented here.
