Tipp City recognized as a Tree City USA – Again
On April 23, members of the Tipp City Tree Board attended the 2026 Tree City USA Awards Program in the city of Forest Park, Ohio. Representatives from 58 communities, campuses, and electric companies in southwest Ohio attended.
Tipp City met the requirements to be proclaimed a Tree City USA for the 42nd consecutive year. The Tree City USA program was established fifty years ago by the Arbor Day Foundation. The requirements are:
A Tree Board or Department
A Tree Care Ordinance
A Community Forestry Program with an Annual Budget of at least $2 Per Capita.
An Arbor Day Observance and Proclamation
In addition, Tipp City received the Arbor Day Foundation’s Growth Award for the 18th time. In This is recognition that Tipp City demonstrated higher levels of tree care and community engagement during the calendar year.
Tipp City has a long history of planting and maintaining trees in curb lawns along city streets and also in parks. The Tree City USA Awards recognize that effort.
