The Tipp City Police Department reports that a potentially dangerous situation was resolved peacefully on April 25, 2026, due to the patience and professionalism of responding officers and assisting agencies.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., Tipp City police officers were dispatched by Miami County E911 to N. Willow Glen Avenue in Tipp City, Ohio, in response to a reported burglary and assault. During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as 58-year-old Allan Argast of 427 S. 1st Street, Tipp City, who was known to the victim.
Officers made multiple attempts to contact Argast at his residence; however, he refused to exit. Based on information gathered during the investigation indicating potential risks to public and officer safety, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) and a crisis negotiator were requested to assist.
Following several hours of negotiation, Argast voluntarily exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident by the SRT.
Argast is currently being held at the Miami County Jail and is facing charges of Aggravated Burglary, Assault, Criminal Damaging, and Menacing.
The Tipp City Police Department extends its appreciation to the community for its patience and cooperation in avoiding the area during the incident, which allowed first responders to operate safely.
