Accel Auto and Tire opens new Tippecanoe Drive location

Accel Auto and Tire is helping to bring new life to the former Dale’s Goodyear location on South Tippecanoe Drive, with the opening of a newly remodeled, eight-bay auto service center offering a full range of repair services ranging from tires, mufflers and exhaust work to full engine repair.

“We’re a one-stop-shop,” Accel Auto and Tire owner Jamie Sites said. “We pretty much do everything.”

“Our repairs come with a three-year, 36,000-mile nationwide warranty,” he said. “We also have financing options on repairs.”

Featuring tires and products from a wide variety of manufacturers, including Goodyear, Cooper Tires, Continental, Kelly Tires, Mastercraft, General Tire, Falken Tire, and others, Accel Auto and Tire also offers lube, oil, and filter changes and towing services.

Located at 26 S. Tippecanoe Dr., the new shop celebrated its official opening on Monday, March 16. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was also hosted by the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce.

Before opening, the entire 7,700 square-foot space underwent major renovations, including a full remodeling of the work and waiting areas. Employees from the shop performed most of the renovations themselves, Sites said, including painting and the construction of a new office area.

“It was pretty well empty,” he said. “It was a big project; we got everything done in about four weeks.”

“Up front, people have been pretty happy to see the updates, and pretty comfortable,” Sites said.

The shop is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and can be reached at 937-821-8473. More information is also available online at www.accelautoandtire.com.

“You can schedule online, and see all the services we offer,” Sites said. “We usually have some coupons on the website, as well.”

Tipp City is Accel Auto and Tire’s newest location. The company currently operates a total of four other repair shops in Vandalia, West Milton, Kettering, and Beavercreek.

The Tipp City location features five full-time employees, and Sites said the company is always accepting applications for new employees.

“We offer in-house training,” he said. “We’re always looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to grow with the company.”

Originally from Kettering, Sites has lived in the Tipp City area with his wife and four children for the past 13 years. He opened the first Accel Auto and Tire location in Vandalia in 2019.

“We started out in a two-bay shop, as the Vandalia Auto Clinic,” he said. “I worked for dealerships for most of my life; I started out as a technician, then I was a service advisor and service manager, then fixed ops manager, and I just decided it was time to do my own thing.”

Accel Auto and Tire’s new Tipp City location is in the same South Tippecanoe Drive space as the former Dale’s Goodyear.

“There’s no affiliation whatsoever,” he said. “They retired, is what I’m guessing. I was told this spot was available, and when we got here, the lifts were all removed.”

Dale’s Goodyear was in operation for approximately 47 years, Sites said.

“I think some of that time it was a parts store,” he said. “It wasn’t always auto repair.”

Remodeling is now complete on the location’s interior, Sites said, although some additional outdoor signs will be installed after they arrive.

“We got as much done as we could before opening,” he said. “Then things got a little busy.”
