Winter sports seasons wind down at Milton-Union

The winter sports seasons are nearing completion for the Bulldogs, but many teams are still performing to the best of their abilities to keep their seasons going. 

In a tight game against National Trail on Feb.14, the boys basketball team took the win 57-55. Led by Levi Brumbaugh, the team fought back from an early game deficit. Brumbaugh scored 19 points and added six rebounds and five assists. Carson Fulton also added 14 points, and Zach Carpenter added 7 points and three rebounds. Brumbaugh was also able to knock down a shot in the last four seconds of the game to give the ‘dogs the lead. This win moved their record to 8-13 overall and 4-9 in the Three Rivers Conference (TRC).

On Feb. 17, the boys competed against inner-conference team Miami East, where they fell 47-32. Fulton was the leader this night, where he scored 10 points, and Brumbaugh added nine points, three assists, and three rebounds. Hunter Fraley also contributed a strong interior performance, adding six points and 12 rebounds. The Vikings pulled away from the ‘dogs in the fourth period, moving Milton’s TRC record to 4-10.

Following this game, All-Conference honors were awarded. Brumbaugh received First-Team All TRC, Fulton received Second-Team All TRC, and Fraley and Gauge McKee received Honorable Mention All TRC. 

Brumbaugh was also named to the District 9 Coaches Team and awarded Buffalo Wild Wings Athlete of the Month. Alongside his awards, he is seventh in the TRC in scoring, fifth in assists and fourth in steals. 

On the wrestling mat, Eli Deeter (285) is the TRC champion after competing in the tournament held at Miami East. With this win, he is named First-Team All Conference for the 2025-26 season.

The following athletes found themselves a placement as well: Jacob Lightner (120) in fourth, Quinton Johnson (126) in third, Seth Lowry (132) in second, Dylan McGuffey (138) in second, Luke Copp (144) in third, Sam Milnickel (150) in third, Isaiah Farmer (157) in third, Carter Hammann (165) in third and Chase Hamann (190) in third.
