Vintage Tipp

The Tippecanoe Historical Society mystery picture from last week is a "seven-shooter" gun. The story goes that there was a tavern at the southwest corner of the Canal Road and New Carlisle/Greenville Pike (today St. Rt. 571). A shooting occurred there early in the 1900's, and the gun was thrown into the canal. It was found later when the canal was drained. This story has not been verified by records, but research was done by Ron Re, and his notes are on file at the museum.

The museum is not holding regular hours until March. For questions, information, or to make an appointment, call 937-698-6798 or 734-845-6520.
