City Manager’s Weekly Update

Please see the highlights from this past week along with some upcoming items that will impact the City in the coming weeks.

Strategic Visioning Session – Staff is currently planning the City’s biennial strategic visioning and goal-setting session with City Council, scheduled for February 13. This all-day session brings together City Council and City leadership to discuss the City’s direction, priorities, and needs, and to establish goals and objectives for the next two years. This year, the City is utilizing a new facilitator who is conducting 20-minute individual phone interviews with each participant in advance of the session. The outcome will be a clear set of goals and priorities to guide the City’s work over the next two years. A final document will be prepared, formally adopted by City Council, and shared publicly.

Amokee Watermain Replacement Project- Beginning this week, Coate Construction will start work on the replacement of the old, undersized water main on Amokee Place. This project will improve water pressure and fire flow in the area while reducing the risk of future water main failures. Construction is expected to take approximately 45 days. Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the area during construction.

U.S Representative Mike Carey- This week, I had the opportunity to meet with staff from Representative Mike Carey’s office. We discussed current economic development projects, outstanding grant requests, and anticipated redistricting changes taking effect in 2027. Representative Carey’s office will continue to support the City’s grant requests and economic development efforts through 2026. As a result of redistricting, Tipp City will be represented by a new member of Congress beginning in 2027.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our city's progress
