Community Night: “Big Band” Tradition

Downtown Tipp City's August Community Night will be held on Friday, August 1st, at Second and Main. The free concert will feature the Tom Daugherty Orchestra, accompanied by swing dancers, at 7:30 p.m.

Community Nights for 33 years have provided a musical forum to keep the hometown spirit of yesteryear alive. No band captures the spirit of this mission better than the Tom Daugherty Orchestra. Every August for years, this band along with swing dancers have made this night a tradition in Tipp City. Under the direction of Tom Pfrogner, this tribute band features the original arrangements exactly as they were recorded by the “Kings of Big Band” Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller, Benny Goodman and Frank Sinatra.
