From the City Manager
Construction Updates- Construction Updates- There is a lot to report on the ongoing and upcoming construction projects in Tipp City.
- Industrial Sewer Project- We anticipate that work along West Main Street will be completed by the end of next week. Once finished, construction will continue north along County Road 25A.
- Pickleball- Construction is progressing well. We expect the courts to be ready for use in late summer and fall. Special thanks to the Miami County Pickleball Association for their valuable input and feedback on this project.
- Interstate Beautification- The project is taking shape with visible improvements underway. Construction in the final quadrant is now in progress. The remaining tasks include the installation of signage on exit ramps and some drainage work.
- Asphalt Resurfacing- The City’s annual resurfacing work is expected to begin soon. More information, including a full list of impacted streets, will be shared as schedules are finalized. Along with this City’s work, South Hyatt Street will also be resurfaced to repair the temporary construction pavement.
- ODOT SR 571 Paving- The Ohio Department of Transportation is resurfacing State Route 571 -west of I-75 as part of a broader paving project. While we do not yet have an exact schedule, we anticipate the work will be completed in the near future. This resurfacing will be a welcome improvement following the extensive sewer construction along West Main Street.
Uptown Redevelopment- Staff efforts continue as we work through the legislative steps necessary to continue our redevelopment work (Urban Redevelopment Plan, TIF, NCA). Additionally, staff continues to work with Woodard to continue progress in regards to commercial business attraction. Additionally, City staff is working to submit a Dayton Region Priority Development and Advocacy Committee (PDAC) application for utility extension and roadway work associated with the potential development of the 60-acre parcel at Co. Rd 25A and SR 571. We hope this application will allow our project to be established as a regional priority and recommend our project for funding by the Dayton Development Coalition.
Meeting with Congressman Mike Carey’s Office- This past week I met with U.S. Representative Mike Carey’s office. We had a great discussion regarding our development projects, grant requests, and current city challenges. I appreciate the support for Tipp City grant applications, development work, and future PDAC application. Congressman Carey has been supportive of our work thru letters of recommendation and calls to prospective businesses the City is looking to attract.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our city's progress.
