Tipp City is getting a little more magical

Tipp City is home to many shopping experiences. From boutiques to bodegas, there's something for everyone. However, downtown is now welcoming an exciting new storefront that is outside of the box, in a magical way. After soft launching in early July, Seven Sisters Apothecary and Art is hosting its grand opening on August 2 at noon, and owner Angela Sandlin-Smith is thrilled to share her business with the community.

Seven Sisters was once a Troy store, but now Tipp City is lucky to claim the Apothecary as its own. Located at 34 South Second Street, the adorable new shop has a wide variety of natural and earth-oriented products. Angela is heavily inspired by nature as well as wellness, creativity, and community. The small business owner has grown up with Holistic wellness since she can remember.

Angela recalls being cured of bee stings with Jewelweed and treated with outside remedies for other ailments by her Appalachian great-grandmother, Mossy. Angela has found peace in foraging and crafting since she was little, and what was once a five-year-old Angela’s pastime of making potions has become an educated way of living.

Seven Sisters Apothecary and Art features products that exemplify Angela's holistic values. She believes that Western medicine has its place, but trying natural and historically helpful remedies is also a beneficial and soothing practice.

Angela says, “It’s all about slowing down and remembering that the earth really does provide us with what we need to be happy and healthy.” Angela’s shop is a love letter to a way of living that helps her find magic in everyday life. As a second-grade teacher, the small business owner incorporates her magical elements into her classroom. She strings fairy lights for a consensual, like atmosphere. She also practices connecting science education with nature.

Seeing as Angela is an instructor, the art of learning about nature and wellness is important to her. At Seven Sisters, there are many different classes open to the community to take advantage of and enjoy. The storefront offers once-a-month stained glass classes, instruction in herbal blending, and making fire cider.

Angela also hosts seasonal solstice and equinox celebrations. Tipp City is a community where creativity and learning are fostered. Seven Sisters Apothecary implements these values within their store, and Tippecanoe couldn’t be more excited to embrace Angela and her business in a more magical way of living.
