Downtown gains new Boba Shop
The small business community of Tipp City is constantly expanding. One of the newest and most exciting additions to the blooming downtown is Aecha Cafe. This tiny shop, which specializes in Boba drinks, is located next to the old Topsy Turvey Toys. This space was previously home to Sweet Adaline's Bakery. The new Aecha Cafe features cute seating, modern and bubbly decorations, and a variety of tasty drinks. Aecha Cafe will officially host their grand opening on Wednesday, June 18; however, they’ve been serving up many delicious drinks for a couple of weeks since their soft opening. The cheerful and excited new owner, Aoy Adkins, originally arrived in America thirteen years ago after living in Bangkok, Thailand. Since then, she created a business that incorporated Thai culture as well as elements from Aoy’s personal life.
The name “Aecha” is rooted in a combination of Aoy and her sister’s name. Her sister was a restaurant manager for ten years in Las Vegas. Aoy loves the contrast from big city life to a small-town family and is excited to call Tipp City home for the new shop. Not only does the title of the boba shop draw inspiration from Aoy’s relationship with her sister, but the word Aecha itself is tied to definitions of “loving daughter” as well as “happy living.” Aoy is certainly promoting happy living in Tipp City. In the short time the boba shop has been open, Aecha has already had two customers complete a full royalty punch card of 10 drinks, which earns a reward of one free milk tea. This could be in part due to the shops' growing popularity of strawberry-flavored refreshments. Strawberry is the current Aecha fan favorite. That being said, much of Aecha’s menu is completely customizable. From milk teas and lemonade to popping pearls and tapioca, there’s something for everyone.
Aoy herself isn't a stranger to the strawberry craze. The boba shop owner’s favorite drink is a classic, with a fruity twist. Out of her entire mouth-watering menu, Aoy enjoys a Strawberry Matcha Latte the most. She feels as though the earthy matcha, mixed with fresh strawberries and creamy milk, is the perfect refreshing treat. Aoy expressed her love for Tipp City and our tight-knit community. She feels that Tipp City matches her energy and personality. Aecha cafe has provided Aoy with the opportunity to meet new people while sharing boba tea, matcha, and treats rooted in her culture and family. After already making waves in the past few weeks, Aecha is on its way to becoming one of everyone's favorite places to grab a sweet treat in Tipp City.
