Dr. Martin English visits with the Optimists
On Saturday, November 15, Dr. Martin English, local director of the Upper Miami Valley Science Days, part of the Ohio Academy of Science, gave members of the Tipp-Monroe Optimists details of the history of local science day events in Darke, Shelby, Miami, and Champaign counties. All four counties have scheduled science day events in February 2026 and are still seeking judges. Miami County Science Day will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Tippecanoe High School, starting at 3:30 p.m.
Students in grades 5 to 12 submit STEM projects for judging, receive awards, and may advance to district and state competitions.
