Bethel Bees PTO hosts annual BOOth or Treat
BETHEL TOWNSHIP- Little ghosts, ghouls, heroes and villains filled the Bethel Elementary School gym on Saturday, Oct. 25, during the annual BOOth or Treat event hosted by the Bethel Bees PTO.
“This year is our biggest event yet,” Bethel Bees PTO President Royce Hamlin said. “We have had more community members and local businesses reach out to sign-up than ever.”
This year’s BOOth or Treat featured games, raffles, and trick-or-treating at booths provided by approximately 20 local businesses and community organizations. Target provided raffle prizes and other items for the event, and Brumbaugh Fruit Farm provided pumpkins for all children attending.
“Target donated hundreds of dollars’ worth of stuff to the PTO,” Hamlin said. “We would also like to give a special shoutout to Brumbaugh Fruit Farm; they donated 150 pumpkins for the PTO to pass out.”
Other local businesses and organizations that participated in BOOth or Treat include Ryan Homes, Lifewise, Isaiah’s Place Foster and Adoption Agency, American Pangainoon Academy, Bethel Township, the Bethel High School Prom Committee, Bethel High School Baseball, Bethel High School Cheerleading, the Pride of Bethel Music Boosters, the Bethel Education Association, Dental Smile Professionals, Hoofin’ It 4-H Club, and Cub Scout Pack 395.
Bethel Township Trustee candidates Julie Reese, Don Black and Josh Wilkerson, and school board candidates Natalie Donahue and Kristen Amburgey also hosted booths at the event, Hamlin said.
Booth or Treat is organized and hosted annually by the Bethel Bees PTO.
“BOOth or Treat has been a staple at Bethel for seven or eight years,” Hamlin said.
“This is the only 100 percent PTO-sponsored event,” she said. “We will be working with our English Language Learners (ELL) department to bring a culture night to Bethel, but that won’t be until the spring.”
The PTO also works with the Athletic Boosters to support their Easter Egg hunt, and Bethel teachers in support of Read Across America Night, Hamlin said.
