Cops N Rodders-2024 Ford Mustang GT Premium

Hello, Tipp City, and welcome to another edition of Cops N Rodders!

In this edition of Cops N Rodders, we are featuring a 2024 Ford Mustang GT Premium.

My good friend, Andrew Wehner, owns this car. Andy is a Sergeant at the Vandalia Police Department and a Navy Veteran who has over 100,000 miles of experience submerged.

Sergeant Wehner is a very talented mechanic; he is the only man I know who can say he has worked on nuclear submarines!

Andy bought his car new and began to add a few modifications.

This GT features a 6-speed manual transmission, a Whipple 3.0 Supercharger with Whipple Stage One tuning. 92 mm Throttle body, Billet Fuel rails with GT500 Fuel injectors, dual high flow air filters, Shelby GT  350 performance half shaft axles.  Eibach Lowering springs. This setup is rated at 810 horsepower and 640 pounds of torque, which translates to approximately 700 foot-pounds of torque at the wheels. Two words describe this car, mean and fast!

This Mustang combines performance, style, and the classic muscle-car character.

Under the hood sits the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 “Coyote” engine. In the GT with a manual transmission, it’s rated at around 480 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque in standard form, with an optional active-valve exhaust increasing the output to about 486 hp and 418 lb-ft.

The 6-speed manual transmission is standard for the GT variant, providing the driver with complete control over gear selection - a rarity in this market segment nowadays.

The 0-60 mph time is approximately 4.2-4.3 seconds (as tested) with the manual transmission and adequately equipped.

Fuel economy for the manual GT is modest — the EPA estimates are around 14-15 mpg city / 23 mpg highway for the manual variant.

The car remains rear-wheel drive, features performance-oriented suspension and braking components, especially when opting for a performance package.

With a gray exterior and gray interior, this particular build leans toward a refined yet aggressive aesthetic. The gray color helps highlight the muscular proportions of the Mustang (long hood, short deck, wide stance) without being overly flashy — ideal for someone who wants performance and a somewhat understated look.

Inside, the GT Premium trim brings a higher level of finish: leather or leather-trimmed seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, modern digital instrumentation (e.g., a 12.4″ digital cluster and a large central touchscreen) for the new generation Mustang.

Comfort and usability are improved: despite being a performance machine, the Premium trim makes it livable as a daily driver, featuring two front seats and small rear seats (typical for a 2-door coupe).

Driving the manual GT is about engagement — row your own gears, feel the V8 breathe, hear the exhaust, shift on your own. Many enthusiasts find it far more connected than the automatic alternative. This car is designed with the driver in mind. Thank you, Sergeant Wehner, for sharing your vehicle with us!
