Tippecanoe Gazette/Clock Tower Media Named Main Street Business of the Year by Heritage Ohio
The Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) is proud to announce that the Tippecanoe Gazette and Clock Tower Media have been honored as Main Street Business of the Year by Heritage Ohio. The award was presented on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, during Heritage Ohio’s annual conference in Canton, Ohio.
Heritage Ohio’s Main Street Awards recognize outstanding achievements in revitalizing and sustaining historic downtowns and commercial districts across the state. The Main Street Business of the Year award honors an independently owned business that exemplifies excellence in entrepreneurship, community involvement, and contribution to a vibrant downtown.
The Tippecanoe Gazette was purchased and reimagined in 2023 by local author, Greg Enslen, and has become a go-to source for stories that highlight local businesses, projects and events in the region, and the people who make Tipp City thrive. Through his sister company, Clock Tower Media, Greg expanded the newspaper’s reach beyond print, offering podcasts, social media content, and other creative ways to keep the community informed and engaged.
Before diving into the newspaper business, Greg was a founding member of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership and served multiple terms on the board. Greg and the other leaders of the Partnership were instrumental in establishing the Tippecanoe Farmer's Market as well as many events and activities that continue today. Greg’s dedication to Tipp City is also evident through his service as a city council member since 2021.
Greg has also invested in the future of downtown by leasing and transforming a space inside a former packaging warehouse. What could have remained an underutilized building in Tipp City, the office is now a dynamic studio and creative workspace. This is a prime example of Greg’s vision and commitment to revitalization.
According to the nomination by Tasha Weaver, DTCP’s Executive Director, “the Tippecanoe Gazette and Clock Tower Media reflect the heart of the Main Street Four Point Approach: Design: Greg’s branding and storytelling elevate the look, feel, and identity of downtown through every issue and episode. Economic Vitality: He supports small businesses through accessible advertising, helping them reach local audiences and grow. Promotion: Greg’s media platforms consistently highlight DTCP events, local stories, and downtown happenings, bringing energy and visibility to the district. Organization: As a current Promotions Committee member Greg is continuing to contribute to the organization’s success. His ongoing involvement is both strategic and hands-on.”
The Gazette, like so many print publications, was facing a myriad of uphill battles, from workflow and software issues, low subscription numbers, to delivery and retail sales. Since Greg’s purchase of the paper, there has been marked improvement across the board.
“This award recognizes Greg Enslen and his employees who are keeping local journalism alive and engaging for the town. Media has a big impact in our small community!” said Lisa Santucci, current board president of the DTCP. “We’re proud of the Tippecanoe Gazette and Clock Tower Media and grateful for the role they play in keeping us connected.”
