Construction Corner: Tipp Schools Construction Projects Continue
Work continues to progress at the Tipp City schools campus that makes up the Tipp Middle and LT Ball facilities. Nevin Coppick has been fully removed and work has accelerated on the construction lots necessary for staging of equipment and materials.

Bus Barn Construction continues
The replacement bus barn is under construction, rising to a height taller than the nearby residences on N. Westedge Drive, which runs along the southern boundary of the school property. The roof is in place on the bus barn, and they are putting down what appear to be metal roof sheets over what is likely a black weatherproof membrane.
According to School Superintendent Moran, recently “crews finished brickwork and acid washing, completed the charging island pad, and poured the front apron and sidewalks along the bus barn. Work on the metal structure is advancing smoothly, and the building’s form is now clearly visible from the parking lot. In addition, crews are moving forward with site preparation for bus parking and paving, setting the stage for final surface work in the coming weeks.”

New Gravel lots appear north and west of Tipp Middle
Large new dirt and gravel lots have been established to the north and west of Tipp Middle School, and a new paved lot has been placed east of the Middle School between it and Hyatt. Construction equipment could be seen in the large gravel lot north of the school.

The massive, paved parking lot that used to exist between LT Ball and Tipp Middle has been removed and the entire area is being graded in preparation of future construction of the new PK-8 school. According to Moran, “Crews have been working diligently to shape the property, including excavating and grading the detention ponds, preparing the land for drainage, and working on the building pad. Site development also includes creating a new entrance and traffic pattern that will improve flow and safety for buses, families, and visitors.”
Nevin Coppick is Just a Memory

And construction – or more accurately destruction – has been completed on the former Nevin Coppick school, which is now just a gravel parking lot and water retention basin.
