Two Tipp City men charged with felony conspiracy to possess heroin as part of a drug investigation in which more than $1 million in illegal drugs were seized were released from jail Friday to a house arrest program.
Aldo Mondragon, 23, and Erik Segura, 21, were taken into custody Dec. 11 when the Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force served search warrants in Tipp City, New Carlisle and Huber Heights. The search warrants in Miami County were sealed from public viewing.
Investigators said hundreds of thousands of dollars were seized and “large amounts” of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines found. The drug investigation continues and more arrests and charges are expected, investigators said.
Mondragon and Segura were scheduled for preliminary hearings Dec. 27 in Miami County Municipal Court. The hearings were continued and their release to house arrest approved. They previously were being held on $150,000 bonds.
