Tippecanoe has had its share of football moments over the years.
Consider 13 straight winning seasons and eight playoffs, with a 10-1 record in 2007 as the school's best mark. The squad has played in the Central Buckeye Conference since 2001.
The first playoff team was 2002 when the team finished the season with a 9-3 mark.
Years ago the Red Devils were members of the Southwestern Rivers Conference from 1982 to 1999. Other SRC teams included Milton-Union, Springfield Catholic Central and Versailles,
Considering Red Devil individual categories, more than a dozen players have received high honors.
For instance, Lee Moore received honorable All-American honors in 1962.
All-Ohio first team members include Ron Fritzsche (1957), Corey Huntsberger (200), Nick Heinl (2002), Matt Catron (2007) and Kyle Pignatiello (2010. Fritzsche was a running back, Huntsberger and Heil were centers and Catron was an offensive lineman.
All-Ohio second team members include Jeff Zickafoose (1975), Doug Zimmer (1982), Brad Mitchell (1992), Mark Wallace (1992), Justin Howard (200), Andy Heinl (2000), Ross Vagedes (2002), Andry Vanover (2003), Nick Landis (2005) Jordan Beighle (2007), Dustin Colbert (2007), Jake Budding (2008) Kyle Pignatiello (2009), Austin Hunter (2010) and Jacob Hall (2012).
Red Devil career marks include Andy Vanover in several offensive categories. Vanover tallied 54 TDs, 336 points and 4,243 rushing yards.
Quarterback David Strawser threw 42 TD passes from 2004-2006. He also holds the career passing yards mark with 3,235. He also threw for 280 yards against Clyde High School in 2005.
Kim Sevitts hold the career receiving yards with 1,207 from 1969-72.
Now in his 25th season as head coach, Charlie Burgbacher has compiled a 174-92 mark in his Tippecanoe career.
For TD receptions in a career, Robert Goldsberry tallied from 2005-06.
Most points in a Tippecanoe game? You have to go back to 1921 when the Red Devils racked up 113 points.
Fewest interceptions in a season? Try 1992, 1996 and 2003 when Tippecanoe threw just three interceptions over an entire season.
Fewest fumbles coughed up in an entire season is three in 1998.
Most rushing attempts In a single game? Three years ago against Elida in a playoff game, the Red Devils rushed the ball 58 times.
And, in a final note, the squad rushed for 597 attempts in the 2002 season.
Perhaps some other records will be set in th 2013 campaign, which kicks off Friday, Aug. 30, when the Red Devils host Graham at 7:30 p.m.
