Tippecanoe Volleyball- Tippecanoe defeated Northwestern last week 25-18, 25-13, 25-17, 25-15 to win their fifth game of the season.
With the first game tied at 11, Tipp used some solid serving from Taylor Prall and Alyssa Crusey, and outhit Northwestern 11-7 for the win. In game two, Tipp trailed 6-2 early, but Crusey served Tipp bacl into the game, and they also had solid net play from Aubrey Cox. Natalie Seeman ended the game with a big kill for the win.
Northwestern won game three after trailing 20-17 late. Tipp fought back to tie the game at 24, but a hitting error and block game the game to Northwestern.
Game four saw Tipp jump in front 10-6 and cruise from there. Audrey Trick and Jordan McMahan each had great defensive games, and offense from Crusey and Emily Shuk.
Crusey led with 16 kills, three blocks, and three aces, while Prall had 11 kills, three blocks and three aces. Cox added 10 kills and four blocks, while Kara Trimbach contributed 38 assists and McMahan had eight digs. Taylor Waltemathe also added six digs.
*On Thursday, Tipp defeated Kenton Ridge in a classic five set match 27-25, 25-19, 16-25, 21-25, 16-14. Tipp took a 9-7 lead in game five but the Cougars came back to take a 10-9 lead. Kenton Ridge had the first match point at 14-13, but a hitting error by the Cougars tied the match at 14. Crusey crushed two consecutive kills to end the match and give the Red Devils the win. It was the first win over Kenton Ridge in three years.
Crusey led with 20 kills, 18 digs, and two aces, while Prall had 18 kills, three blocks, and Cox had 12 kills with seven blocks. McMahan had 32 digs, and Trimbach had 53 assists.
Tippecanoe Girls Golf- Tipp held on for a solid 175-188 victory last week over Miami East in a county matchup. Ally Chitwood led Tipp with a 41, while Taylor Hudson added a 43, Victoria Merrick with a 45 and Sammie Rowland carded a 46.
Tipp Boys Soccer- Austin Haas scored off an assist from Wade Timmer giving the Red Devils a big 1-0 win against Indian Hill on Saturday.
