Charles J.Berger III of Tipp City passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017. Born January 25, 1938 in Dayton, OH to Charles J. and Florence {Schoenherr} Berger Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter in-law, Phyllis Berger, and nephew, David Stephans.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Jean {Farver} Berger, sons, Jim (Anne) Berger, Livonia, MI, Tim (Debbie) Berger and Steven (Susan) Berger all of Tipp City, OH.

Also surviving are brother, John (Kathy) Berger, Centerville, OH and sister, JoAnn (Fred) Stephans, Englewood, OH, 6 grandchildren, Melinda Sherfy, Steven Jr., Jazmine, Curtis “CJ”, Matthew, & Amanda Berger, and 2 great grandchildren, Delaney & Evelyn Sherfy.

Charles was a 1956 graduate of Fairview High School, spent 32 years at Inland Division, GM as a machine repairman and tool room foreman and retired in 1988 at the age of 50. He enjoyed boating, fishing, maintaining the homestead, working on cars, tractors, etc. and was a member of the “McDonald Breakfast Bunch” and a Free Mason, Dayton Lodge for over 50 years.

Funeral service Friday, December 29, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH; Pastor Dan Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W.
