Jackson “Jack” L.Hounshell,  age 70, of Tipp City, passed away Wednesday December 13, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Born January 1, 1947 in Dayton, OH to the late Reed and Marie {Lykins} Hounshell. Jack is survived by his loving wife Deborah “Debbie” Hounshell, daughter Julie and her husband Rodney Walker, Adel, Iowa and son Ted Hounshell, Alpharetta, Georgia. Also surviving are sister Patricia and her husband Jim Brown, Tipp City, stepsister Cody Ann Short, Largo, Florida, grandchildren, Andrew and Emma Hounshell.

Jack graduated from Belmont High School in 1965 and Eastern Kentucky University in 1970.   He was a member of Tipp City Church of the Nazarene, Tipp City Jaycees, Tipp Players, founding member of the of Tipp Youth Soccer program and long time coach; was the announcer for the Mum Festival Parade, Tippecanoe High School football, basketball and soccer for many years and served as a Tipp City Councilman. Jack was recognized by Kentucky Governor Paul E Patton as a 'Kentucky Colonel', an honor bestowed in recognition for his service and accomplishments on behalf of others. Jack was a master of mischief and and had an easy smile and a quick joke for everyone he met.

Funeral services 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Tipp City Nazarene Church 1221 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371.; Pastor Jim Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH.  Visitation 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the church.  Contributions may be made in loving memory of Jack to Ohio Hospice or Tipp Needy Baskets.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W.
