Philip Lantz of Tipp City, OH and The Villages, FL departed from this life on January 18, 2017 in Florida at the age of 67. Phil is survived by his wife, Paula Lantz; son, Philip Jonathan (Lori) Lantz of Arvada, CO; daughter, Sarah Christine (Mack) Ramsay of Tipp City, OH. The five Grands of his life are; Ian, Rose and Violet Ramsay; Grace and Brian Lantz. He was preceded in death by both parents and his only sibling, Charles Hunter Lantz. Phil always had a special place in his heart for his sisters-in-law; Sister Christine Schenk, Constance Thoele, Dr. Elizabeth Schenk (Chip Wasson) as well as niece Kristin (James) Penny; and nephews Chuck (Vicki) Lantz, Benjamin (Jill) Thoele, Tyler and Spencer Schenk-Wasson. He was born in Elkins, West Virginia March 20, 1949 to Jean McKee Hunter Lantz and Charles Willard Lantz. Phil grew up in Lima, Ohio, graduating from Lima Senior High School in 1967. He attended Trine University graduating in 1971 with a Business degree in Finance. A week later he married his college sweetheart Paula Schenk. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in June. After moving to Tipp City in 1973, Phil began working for Rack Processing Company in Sales and Design. His 34 years with the company allowed him to mesh his skill in innovative designs with his financial acumen. He retired as Company President in 2007. His time at home was equally as productive. Phil loved travel, skiing, gardening and playing with his grandchildren. He deeply enjoyed working with wood or fixing anything mechanical. In golf, he was a founding member of Joe League. In 2009 he retired to The Villages, Fl. He forged new friendships with neighbors, and had more time for golf, hobbies and dancing. A Remembrance of Phil's Life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. February 11, 2017 at Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church THE DESCIPLESHIP CENTER, 7695 South County Road 25-A.
