A Tipp City man convicted of multiple theft-related charges was sentenced Monday, March 6, to 18 months in prison.

Justin Johnson, 26, will serve about 12 months in prison after being given credit for 172 days already spent in the Miami County Jail.

He pleaded guilty in January in county Common Pleas Court to charges of theft and forgery.

Johnson told Judge Jeannine Pratt he thought he could change with participation in a treatment program such as the MonDay program in Montgomery County. Pratt said before sentencing that Johnson exhibited a pattern of the same type of offenses and was charged with more offenses while on post release control from a prior prison sentence.

No restitution was ordered. Prosecutors said the victims were made whole by the banks.
