The main objective for Jason Pierce, owner of JJ’s Lunchbox, is to satisfy his customer’s needs; whether it’s through delicious foods or acts of kindness. When the customers speak, he listens, and after hearing of the need for a place in the area to serve breakfast…Pierce began serving breakfast. A variety of breakfast items are now on the menu, including numerous flavored pancake options, biscuits & gravy, and chicken & waffles.

Located at 7031 S. Co. Road 25A, JJ’s opened in January of 2015, having lasted two years at a spot other eateries have struggled to survive. For his success, Pierson credits the relationships he strives to form with the customers. “I care about my customers. I don’t only want to serve them quality food, but also be someone they can trust and confide in. A big part of my business is treating customers like family,” he said.

Those who live or work close to JJ’s complained of having to go into town or to Vandalia for breakfast, as not even anywhere with coffee was within a close radius. Breakfast is now served beginning at 6 a.m. and the menu items are available all through the day. One of the most popular new choices is the chicken and waffles, which are coated with a secret peanut butter sauce. It’s an entrée that isn’t available anywhere else in the area. “I had chicken & waffle in the south once and really liked it. I told myself that I want that on the menu if I ever serve breakfast,” said Pierce.

In addition to a stack of five traditional pancakes, there are options for three Peanut Buster pancakes, topped with the peanut butter sauce, Reeses Cup chunks and whipped cream; three chocolate pancakes topped with chocolate sauce and shaved chocolate or three Big Apple pancakes topped with caramel apples, whipped cream, and cinnamon. “It’s how I like to make pancakes at home so is how I wanted to make them here,” said Pierce.

Faith is an important part in every aspect of Pierce’s life, including business, as JJ stands for Jason and Jesus. He tries to treat customers as Jesus would, so Pierce never hesitates to lend a helping hand to those in need. He’s been known to let customers who are unable to pay, take home orders on a credit. JJ’s also donates pizzas to several of the school’s sports teams in Tipp City and to programs operated by the Tipp Monroe Community Services.

By continuing to serve others, Pierce believes that he will continue to be blessed and visions of an eventual expansion will come to fruition. “I believe that if I keep doing good for others, that God has plans for something bigger for me,” he said.

JJ’s specializes in pizza, broasted chicken, wings, and subs. They provide the pizza for all the schools in the district and also for the Aquatic Center during the summer. JJ’s is also available for catering. The new hours are Monday – Thursday 6 a.m. to 9/10 p.m., Friday 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
