Repairs and cleanup have been top of the maintenance list for Monroe Township trustees and staff as reported in the board’s November 7 meeting. Curb repair in the township’s Scottsdale and Tall Oaks subdivisions has been completed or in the process of completion; trimming and cleanup at township cemeteries as well as on Ginghamsburg Road and various township West roads have been underway; and repair and cleanup in subdivision catch basins are soon to begin.
The trustees will be referring a recent complaint about continued heavy truck traffic on Peters Road to the Miami County Engineer’s Office. Peters Road is a county road which is controlled and maintained by the County Engineer. Several residents residing on Peters have expressed concerns for safety, and wear and tear on this road due to large truck traffic coming and going from Montgomery County businesses over the last two years.
Resolutions passed by the board on November 7 included bill payments of $59,375.48, and acceptance of the financial status reports for October 2016 and the bank reconciliation of September 30, 2016, as presented by the township fiscal officer.
It was reported that the monthly Monroe Township Water and Sewer District Board of Trustees meeting will be 6 p.m. Monday, November 14. These meetings are open to the public and held in the Monroe Township meeting room, 6 E. Main St., Tipp City.
The next Monroe Township board meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday, November 21 in the meeting room at 6 E. Main St., Tipp City. As a reminder, the Monroe Township offices and facilities will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 24.
