Bethel Township Trustees approved a $ 7,030 payment to Access Engineering for design work for the Phoneton water system at their September 22 meeting.

According to Andy Ehrhart, Township Administrator, the Fire Department only made 13 runs between September 5, 2015 and September 18, 2015. This is substantially fewer runs than normal. The department normally gets over 20 calls in a two week time period. Eleven of the thirteen calls were for emergency medical services. The remaining two calls were cancelled in route.

For Planning and Zoning, Jeff Green reported that no zoning applications were received. However, he has three requests for the zoning appeals board, which will met on September 24, 2015.

- Kent Miller of 2300 US 40 for a conditional use variance to allow a multi-family residence to be built at 2300/2301 US 40.

- Dean Shoup of 7730 Windham Road is a variance to increase the maximum size of an accessory structure from 1200 sq ft to 1265 to make an addition to an existing accessory structure.

- Robert and Cynthia Adams located at 2500 US 40 for a triple variance to increase the maximum size of an accessory structure from 2400 sq ft to 4800 sq ft, increase the number of accessory structures allowed from two to three, and increase the maximum height from 15 to 24 feet.

- Larry Dare at 6582 US 40 has requested a time extension to build a house at that location.

For zoning enforcement, Green removed an illegal sign at the corner of Ross and 202, notified two property owners of high grass violations at 7250 SR 202 and 6665 US 40, and issued a health referral for 7250 SR 202.

The next meeting of the Bethel Township Trustees is scheduled for October 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the township meeting room.
