The Miami County commissioners last week approved contracts for this year’s county paper shredding and household hazardous waste programs.
The weekly household hazardous waste drop off program will be held April through September. The county contract with Environmental Enterprises Inc. is for $17,500. The county will charge $1 per pound for items to offset the program costs.
The commissioners also approved a contract with Crowe Shredding Inc. of Richmond, Ind., to provide paper-shredding services May 6 at the county fairgrounds as part of a sanitary engineering department program.
The cost will not exceed $610 under the agreement. County residents will be able to bring four file boxes of papers for shredding free of charge.
