The Miami County commissioners approved an agreement for testing and repair of a generator at a county 911 radio tower site in Bethel Township to end repeated false alarms.

The commission voted Feb. 2 to approve an agreement with WS Electronics of Troy to work with the generator manufacturer to test and repair the backup generator at the site in Brandt.

Jeff Busch, county Communication Center director, said WS Electronics handles the routine service for the tower sites and would work with manufacturer Bridgeway and Cummins to determine the cause of the false alarms.

The cost of the work will not exceed $4,027, according to the commissioners’ action.
