The Miami County Common Pleas Court held its first video arraignment Thursday, Jan. 26, in the courtroom of Jeannine Pratt.

The equipment to accommodate the video process was installed as part of a court technology update project. No problems were encountered during the arraignments on grand jury indictments against three people being held in the county jail.

A video arraignment system has been in use in the county Municipal Court for a few years. That court is located in the county Courthouse across the courthouse plaza from the jail. The jail is located in the Safety Building, where the Common Pleas Court is held.
